SatDarshan (sought-dar-shun) graduated from The University of New Mexico with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Family Studies. She then attended Southwestern College where she earned a Master’s degree in Counseling and Spiritual Psychology. SatDarshan obtained experience working in a community home for adults recovering from homelessness, trauma, and debilitating mental illness. She also worked as a mental health counselor with adults at an outpatient counseling center. For over a decade, SatDarshan has worked in holistic health, psychology, yoga, and meditation with people from all over the world by running training programs focused on healing and transformation.
SatDarshan is a dedicated professional and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor with an interest in humanistic approaches to mental health. With specialized training in EMDR, she is drawn to supporting clients in clearing suffering and gaining peace.
She employs a variety of modalities based on the clients needs and goals. She is informed by attachment theory, trauma studies, cognitive behavioral therapy, DBT, and positive psychology. As a Certified Health Coach, she also finds it beneficial to integrate an understanding of the nervous system, nutrition, and techniques to reduce stress. She is currently pursuing certification as a Shame-Informed Treatment Specialist and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. SatDarshan uses her personal experiences with attachment ruptures and trauma to inform her practice and support clients through their process.
Known for her genuine care and commitment, her approach is supportive, empathetic, and nonjudgmental. She believes that human beings have an innate need to be seen, heard, and connected to others. It can be a helpful process to examine our family of origin and patterns so that we gain insight and understanding. From this insight and understanding, we can move forward, feel in control, and create what we want.
SatDarshan provides therapeutic treatment for individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, fear, trauma, attachment issues, stress, PTSD, and more. She believes therapy is a unique and sacred space for discovery, support, and growth where her job is to partner with you. She would be honored to support you.
When SatDarshan is not working, she loves to have dance parties at home, create flower bouquets, bake treats for family and friends, and tend to the plants in her garden. She loves spending time with her husband and child and being active outdoors; they ride their bikes, go on hikes, and love swimming, camping with friends, and traveling. SatDarshan loves designing and creating cozy spaces through landscaping, photography, drawing with her child, and decorating her home. Luckily, her husband is very patient and supports her interior design interests by assisting in rearranging their furniture every six months!
