Laila (Chas Tso)

Laila as a Community Support Worker (CSW) at A Path With Heart. Laila brings a lifetime of recovery and resiliency with her into her work with clients in need of Comprehensive Community Support Servics.

After surviving violence, homelessness, and addiction in her youth, Laila earned her GED and culinary certificate through Job Corps in 2008. She went on to obtain her CCSS certification in 2024. Laila is passionate about creating safer, more equitable systems for marginalized individuals/families in her communities.

Beyond her work as a Community Support Worker, Laila serves on the Commission on American Indian and Alaska Native Affairs for the City of Albuquerque. She is also a Board Member of the Missing and Murdered Diné Relatives Coalition. In addition, she champions Native LGBTQ2S+ and non-binary relatives through leadership and lived experience. She previously served as Chair of the Transgender Resource Center of New Mexico Board

Laila (Chas Tso) she/her, is an Indigenous Woman from the Diné (Navajo) Tribe. She is of the Towering House People clan, born for the Bitter Water People clan, and is originally from Thoreau on the Eastern Agency of the Navajo Nation. She has lived in Albuquerque since 2009, where she is a dedicated community advocate.
